you'll might be bored of brochettes, always the same, at least that was me, until I deciced to try new multicultural recipes. So here's one!
A little back story, my parents bbq all the time! like literally 3 times a week and you can say, ok. what's the problem?
The problem my friends is that they always made the same stuff, you know why do other things when the same 4 plates are good. Well, I got bored. I'm the type of person that gets bored easily, so I made the search for new recipes my hobby.
so lets cut all the crap and get started!
You'll need the good old same ingredients but we'll do a little mix!
ingredients brochettes:
12 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 large bell pepper
1 large white onion
ingredients marinade:
1 tbsp. dried oregano
Ā½ tsp. onion powder
Ā½ tsp. garlic salt
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper (to taste)
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. mustard powder
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 cup lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Ā¼ cup olive oil
So yeah, all the secret it's in the marinade, the more it sits there the more flavor it will have.
you'll might be bored of brochettes, always the same, at least that was me
instructions:
Dice the onion and bell pepper (about how you like your vegetables idc)
In an airtight bag or container, combine all the ingredients of the marinade. Mix well.
Add vegetables and chicken cubes.
Marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Preheat barbecue to medium heat. Lightly oil grill.
Drain and discard marinade.(you can also make a sauce with the marinade if you like)
Thread chicken cubes, peppers and onions alternately onto skewers.
Grill the brochettes for about 8 to 10 minutes on each side, turning once. The brochettes are ready when they are well grilled and the chicken has lost its pink color.
If you want to make the sauce from the marinade (you know, dont throw good things away!) just put it in a hot pan and mix well with a little bit of flour, not too much or it will be way to thick, you want to put a little bit a mix well until it gets the consistency you want.
Be sure to taste it, flour will sure take some flavor away so go ahead and add some spice or whatever it is you like.
